Judge : Mr. D Crossan (Crossgarley)
The Northern Provincial Bull Terrier Club held an open show at
St Josephs Hall in Leigh which I was honoured to judge. The
committee could not have made me more welcome and I’d like to
thank them and the exhibitors for a lovely show. Some of the dogs
and bitches present would not look out of place anywhere.
Puppy Dog.
1st Bensons Drumquinn Daredevil well made white with a super
power packed well filled head, good topline, and nice front, but
bad mouth fault.
2nd Wady’s Ferrybull Bruin Trouble, another nice white, level
topline, good hindquarters, preferred the overall balance of 1.
Junior Dog.
Best class of the day, all five placings caught my eye.
1st. Leesley’s Lydsyll The Untouchable top quality white I loved
the minute I saw him come into the ring.Has a head and
expression which in my opinion is the way it’s described in the
breed standard completely filled, nice turn but not over done in
any way. Lovely neck going into perfectly placed shoulders. The
shortest of backs which lead down to tremendous power packed
hindquarters, which propel him up and down the matt with drive.
Front is ramrod straight and he has lovely cat like feet which
are as tight as clenched knuckles. He’s not the biggest but is
still very masculine and owns the ring. I hope he goes all the
way, not enough of his type about. (Best Dog and Best in Show)
2nd. Wannops Charishalee Defiant Ghost big heavy weight white,
good head and eye, nice topline which he held on the move.
Strong rear quarters which due to the size of him have yet to
fully develop. Could have used ears better. Should mention 3rd
and 4th in this class are another 2 quality whites which could
all swap places on another day, but the class winner to me is an
awesome bull and terrier.
1st. Rom C.H BritishSpitfire nice b brindle, decent head and
good ear placement, topline adequate, movement acceptable and

profile. Was hard to assess on the move.

bone, nice head, moved well, straight front and good feet.

bend of stifle.Moved a bit close behind but a very nice animal
who was well handled and should do a bit of winning.
2nd. Dowsings Brown Fox of Wodalotabull nice brindle, plain
head, nice front and feet, coat in good condition.
1st. Blakely’s Thundering Sky At Dazlin nice 10 mths old pup.

and correct topline.Well bend stifle, lovely straight front and
nice feet, ample bone but a very feminine young lady who should
go far.
2nd. Shearer’s Ceilteach Barra Babe another beautiful terrier
type white with a lovely long sweeping head. Ears right on top
and a lovely eye. Not as tall as one but beautifully put
together. Still a bit loose and was a bit shy but when she
settled was very easy on the eye. Another who should go the
whole hog when she matures.
1st. Teirgwynn Treacle Tart top quality tri, beautifully made,
cracking head, terrific eye and ear, mouth fault. Has a good
heavy round bone, but still feminine, short back, strong rear
quarters, nice front, liked her a lot. (Best Coloured)

1st. Harris Sherrywells Starflake at Manzanita quality white I
liked as a puppy, has matured into a beautiful bitch with a
fantastic long well filled head with a tremendous profile, her
ears are bang on top. To be critical she moves close at the back

the best out of her. A well deserved Best Bitch.

mouth fault, good topline, good bone, nice bend of stifle, moved
O.K and is a very nice well balanced bitch.
